Setting of The Melting Sea

I Have chosen the book the melting sea by Erin Hunter for my independent reading novel for English 1B. The Setting in this book is very well descripted but always changing because the characters (Which are bears) are traveling so the setting is changing. We do know that stays constant that it is taking place in modern time and the location are in Canada because there is a map in the front of the book, An example of setting in this book is when they go trough a fog "The air was full of tiny ice crystals that stung her eyes and settled on her pelt, striking deep into her fur like frozen thorns." There is good imagery where u can see the tiny ice crystal in the air and see them sticking deep into Lusa's fur. I image its like a mist from a mister but all icy like sleet just floating there. How do you picture the frozen fog?

  1. I imagine it like little diamonds floating around sticking to the bears.

  2. This sounds like a very exotic type of book where there is lots of imagery. It sounds like the rare that are about animals and their life's and their thought's. An example is the Warrior series. Very rarely can you find a good book like this one, but this one sounds great.

  3. I recall reading a similar book with lots of imagery and details called the death cure.

  4. Your post is OK because you are capitalizing letters where you are not supposed to and using texting "u" instead of you. This book sounds like a non-fictional but the main characters are bears surviving in the arctic. The author will have a journalistic style of writing showing some imagery and some simple sentences.
